CHOCOLATE TECHNIQUES

This 1/2 day hands on workshop is perfect for those who have an interest in learning the many techniques of decorating cakes with chocolate. The workshop includes covering cakes, making chocolate panels, wraps, chards, spikes, truffles, curling and dipping. Included in the workshop fee are ingredients to make 2 chocolate cakes, participants are required to make these cakes and bring to the workshop.  Each participant will go home with their beautifully decorated 2 tier masterpiece cake. MOTHERS’ DAY CAKE

This  2 1/2  hour course will teach you the skills to successfully ice and decorate a gorgeous cake just perfect for Mothers’ Day or any other special occasion.  Cover your mud cake with  chocolate fondant ready to roll icing then decorate with stunning chocolate leather rose spray and patterned drapes. Cost $20 plus materials. Maximum participants 9.

CUPCAKES

Good for ideas and tips if you have a birthday coming up or a special occasion where you need to bring a plate. This 3 hour class is a mix of demonstration and hands on with simple techniques for making and decorating cupcakes. Aimed at the novice, using buttercream, fondant and chocoalte you will learn a range of piping skills and easy, effective decorating ideas.  Cost $55, all inclusive.  Maximum participants 12.

BEGINNERS FLOWER CLASSES

These classes will be held over 3 weeks with each session running for 2 hours.  You will make fabulous life like roses, sweetpea and jasmine all arranged in a beautiful spray suitable for the top of a celebration cake such as wedding, engagement, 21st,  anniversary and special birthday.  Learn techniques using cutters and also hand moulded flowers and leaves.  The class will also include a few little pieces suitable for cupcakes.  Cost $55 plus materials.  Maximum partipants 10.

WILTON’S CAKE DECORATING COURSE 1 -Discover Cake Decorating

We are very excited to now offer the new Wilton’s Cake Decorating Course 1. Learn the Wilton method of cake decorating covering, working with buttercream, borders, icing flowers and the Ribbon Rose, writing, drop flowers, stars and shells, figure piping, character cakes, pattern transfers and more. The course runs over 4 weeks.

Cost $180, included in this cost is 8 hours tuition – 4 weeks x 2 hours, a Wilton Course 1 Kit and a Wilton student lesson plan booklet, some other materials will need to be supplied by participants. Maximum partipants 10.

Build on the skills you learned in Course 1 with this wonderful 4 week course. Master elegant new borders featuring rosettes, reverse shells and rope designs. Give your cakes incredible dimension with the addition on Colour Flow decorations.  Create lovely new flowers like rosebuds, lilies, daisies, daffodils, mums and more. Use these flowers in a grand finale, an impressive basket cake using the interwoven basketweave technique.

WILTON’S CAKE DECORATING COURSE  – Fondant and Gum Paste

For those who are eager to learn more wonderful Wilton skills. In this 4 week course you’ll explore an incredible array of richly detailed flowers, borders and accents using these dough like icings.  Begin by creating the perfect smooth surface to show off your decorations, as you cover a cake and base board with fondant. Learn the secrets of handling, cutting and tinting fondant and gum paste. Add beautiful textured effects such as punched strips and appliques. And create the perfect finishing touch to your cakes as you craft many breathtaking blossoms, including a multi-layer fantasy flower.

We are now running another advanced class in flowers for those who have attended the beginners and advanced 1 courses. These classes will introduce the Classic Arum Lily and the ever popular Azalea.   The class will be held over 3 weeks with each session running for 2 hours.  Cost $55 plus materials.  Maximum partipants 10.
